- Lodgings that say they provide “privacy” are situated alongside public roads
- Cabins are packed like sardines on small properties
Before you consider booking accommodations in the Hocking Hills area be sure you have the answers to these questions:
Is my cabin secluded? How close is the next cabin? How far is my cabin from the road? What are the views like from my cabin?
At Cherry Ridge Retreat of Hocking Hills, our cabins are situated nearly a mile from the road amidst 140 acres of private forested land. We focus on quality, not quantity: each cabin is situated on its own private site and each site is unique. As you sit on your porch or gaze from the great room picture windows, all you’ll see is nature: trees, water features, birds, and deer. Isn’t this why you wanted to go to Hocking Hills in the first place?
Are there hiking trails on the property?
Whereas most rentals in Hocking Hills are located on very small pieces of property, Cherry Ridge Retreat of Hocking Hills is situated on 140 private acres. We have miles of trails that wander through wooded ridges and ravines. You’ll find a wide variety of flora and fauna, as well as several serene picnic sites where you can enjoy a private meal in the midst of the forest.
- Hot Tub:
How large is the hot tub? How secluded is it?
At Cherry Ridge Retreat of Hocking Hills, our hot tubs accommodate four to six people and each is situated to create a spa-like setting that includes dramatic views of the natural surroundings. Each location is private and secluded.
What is the kitchen like? Is it a real kitchen, or is it a “kitchenette”?
Whereas most Hocking Hills accommodations have small kitchens or kitchenettes, our cabins have complete kitchens suitable for preparing a gourmet meal. Our spacious open plan kitchens include food processors, coffee grinders, Calphalon cookware, and a bar that overlooks the great room. We also provide stainless steel barbeque grills. We supply the gas—no need to hassle with bringing your own charcoal.
- Cabin Interior:
How is my cabin furnished?
Many cabins in Hocking Hills use “rustic” as a buzzword. Although pictures on the internet often depict homey-looking rooms and cozy patio furniture, guests at Cherry Ridge Retreat of Hocking Hills have reported their disappointment in the quality (or lack thereof) in the cabins they’ve visited. At Cherry Ridge, guests find artist-designed furniture, stylish yet comfortable sofas and chairs, wide-plank wood floors, boulder fireplaces in the great room and master bedroom, tiled kitchens with top-of-the-line fixtures, fluffy towels and cloud-like bedding on pillow top mattresses, as well as all natural Aveda bath products.
Should I expect a good night's rest?
At Cherry Ridge Retreat of Hocking Hills, we understand that the serenity and rejuvenation you find in the privacy of our woods is multiplied by the quality of your comfort. To that end, we have worked hard to create spaces that are stylish without sacrificing comfort. Each cabin has been appointed with beautiful furniture that has been specifically chosen for your comfort and relaxation. Some of our guests look forward to a little rain so that they can sink into our deep, cushioned armchairs to enjoy a good book or a glass of wine. A good night sleep is of course one of the most important aspects of a night in the woods. We have elevated this important aspect of your stay into an art, seeking out the latest mattress technology to ensure your perfect comfort. Our mattresses are designed to conform to your body, allowing you to rest in perfect comfort.
